The FAA has issued aircraft-specific standardised curricula tailored for the Gulfstream V series for Part 135 operators of the aircraft.

The curricula, which aims to provide training guidance, is intended to be standardised across different air carriers and operators, with the Gulfstream V series guidance used as the first example of this. It has been published in the Federal Register so that the public can comment on the recommended training.

The guidance includes recommended maneuvers, procedures and functions for flight training on the Gulfstream V series to meet the regulatory requirements in Part 135.

It follows the FAA tasking the Aviation Rulemaking Advisory Committee (ARAC) in March 2020 to provide advice and recommendations on the most effective ways to achieve standardisation in pilot qualification, while making it more efficient and decreasing paperwork.

The FAA said a standardised curriculum “supports the overarching goals to enhance training and checking and promote safer operational practices and is consistent with applicable regulations”.

Comments can be sent to the FAA about the training up until November 9th, with more details and contacts provided here
