LYTE Aviation has received a pre-order for 10 aircraft from Ghenus Air for use in their US and Korean markets.

With a delivery time of 5-6 years, the preorder represents the second deal of this type for LYTE following on from VMan Aviation Services’ purchase of 10 aircraft last year.

Ghenus Air has also pre ordered 20 eVTOL aircraft from Plana, 20 UAVs from Traverse Aero and 50 aircraft from Odys Aviation. Ghenus’s 10 pre-orders with LYTE are for its 40 seater eVTOL LA-44, the SkyBus, its cargo variant, the SkyTruck LA-44C, and its 19 seater prime variant, the LA-44 X Prime.

Ghenus Air is expanding its door-to-door market for corporate executives and business owners. Joseph Kim CEO said: “There are thousands of regional airports worldwide, most of them underutilised. In the United States, 90% of people live within a 30-minute drive of a regional airport, compared with 60% for a commercial airport. This existing capacity of underutilised airports could support a growing RAM [regional air mobility] market with less investment and ramp-up time than other new modes of transport such as UAM.”

LYTE’s SkyBus offers a range of 620 miles (1,000 km) with a max speed of 190 mph (300 km/hr). A full-scale prototype is being planned within 24 months, and serial production within 5-6 years.

Freshta Farzam, CEO & Founder LYTE Aviation said: “It is an honour for us to get so well appreciated and supported in the aviation industry. Within only one year, we are collaborating in over 19 cities in four continents and now we have received in total 20 preorders worth, in total, €800m during concept phase. Imagine, the 2000 preorders we are warming up now once we have our prototype ready.”

“This pre-order comes at a great timing for us, as we are expanding our portfolio,” added Farzam. “Now with the huge demand in business aviation we are introducing our 19 seater LA-44 X Prime version. We are currently designing the interiors of our prime version, varying from large meeting rooms in the sky that will take off right at your corporate’s door step, no runways required anymore, up to spacious solutions for families for a flight duration of 2-3 hours, taking off right at their home doorsteps.”

Ghenus sees “high potential” in the Korean and US regional air mobility markets. Kim explained: “In the United States, there is ample marketability for regional air service utilising underutilised regional airports. And since Korea is pursuing a hydrogen economy, the use of hydrogen-based SkyBus and SkyTruck is expected to not only be symbolic but also make a significant contribution to improving the profitability of local airports that are suffering huge losses.”

A South Korea court has upheld a previous decision to bar entry into the country by a Chinese businessman, following allegations that he sexually assaulted and harassed two South Korean staff members on his private jet.

According to a report on shanghaiist.com, Wang Hua, the chairman of Jeshing Group – a Nanjing-based conglomerate that specialises in home furnishing stores and real estate – had filed a lawsuit against the South Korean immigration service for banning him from entering the country.

Although South Korean investigators were able to prove the allegations, prosecution proceedings against Wang were halted after the two South Korean staff members dropped all charges against him.

South Korean immigration services then decided that there was enough evidence against him to bar him from ever entering South Korea.

Wang then filed a lawsuit against the head of the immigration office, arguing that the offences had taken place in China, and that barring him from entry would cause economic loss for South Korea, as he was planning on building a luxury hotel on the South Korean honeymoon island, Jeju.

Unswayed by his argument, the South Korean courts upheld the previous travel ban, ruling that “According to the prosecution’s investigation, it clearly explains the plaintiff molested the victims using his position at work. There is a concern that he could commit acts against public safety and the national interest if allowed into the country,”

Internet records show that the Jeshing Group currently operate a 2014-Build Dassault Falcon 7X (MSN 220) registered in the Cayman Islands as VP-CJS. It was delivered in August 2014, replacing a 2012-build Falcon 2000EX (MSN 242) which was also registered VP-CJS.

In 2013 The Sydney Morning Herald alleged that Wang had frequently flown into Australia on his Falcon, with suitcases stuffed with cash.

Images posted on aviation photography websites show Jeshing Group business jets visiting Melbourne, Sydney and Launceston, Australia.

Operational services of the
first EC135 began on 1 September 2011. With the delivery of the third aircraft,
the Republic of South Korea will have the only three
civilian-operated aircraft in service in the country.

“Metro Aviation is the only
company able to meet all of our requirements in a very short time frame,”
stated Charlie Park, general manager of Korean Air. “The short time frame for completion
is great.”

Park added, “This is the
final contracted aircraft this year, but the Republic of South Korea
plans to increase the Korean Air fleet size to 16.”

Each of the EC135 aircraft
are equipped with Metro Aviation standard EMS
options, SPIFR, and air conditioning. Metro Aviation, Inc. will provide onsite
reassembly assistance and a flight-check before the third aircraft enters
service.

Metro Aviation completed two EC135 aircraft
for the Republic
of Korea.

These aircraft are not only the first
Eurocopter EC135 aircraft in country, but will become the first civilian
operated EMS aircraft to be in-service in the Republic of South Korea.

“Every resource Metro Aviation, Inc.
possesses was challenged by this project,” said Milton Geltz, managing director
of Metro Aviation. “The first two aircraft were received and completed with all
Metro Aviation, Inc. standard EMS options,
SPIFR, air-conditioning, paint and interior in less than 80 days including
Korean Aviation Safety Administration acceptance of the modifications and the
basic aircraft.”

Korean Air Lines began operational services
with the EC135’s on 1 September 2011.

Geltz added, “Metro Aviation, Inc. was also
contracted to provide onsite reassembly assistance at the KAL Inchon base by
the customer. A technician was dispatched and, along with American Eurocopter
test pilot assistance, the two aircraft were reassembled, flight-checked and
entered service for pilot training, each in less than four days.”

Korean Air Lines has contracted completion
of a third EC135 which will be shipped 20 September 2011.
